A Sad Loss
We are incredibly sad to announce the recent passing of Mark Ellul, owner of Marked Improvement Headlight Restoration. He was a most enthusiastic member of the Chamber and always a friendly face at our networking meetings. Many of you who met Mark would know what a genuine, friendly, kind and hardworking man he was. Stranger in the Window Competition
With the school summer holidays approaching, the annual 'Stranger in the Window’, competition is set to attract more visitors to local shops. Organised by the Deal & Walmer Chamber of Trade, the competition runs from July 17th to August 10th, 2024, coinciding with the carnival period. Shopkeepers place an unusual item in their windows, and participants, who purchase an entry form for £1 from JJ Woods Newsagents or Deal Radio, visit various shops to identify these items. The event saw a fantastic turnout from members and non-members of the local business community creating a supportive and happy atmosphere. April saw the Chamber hold its bi-monthly networking event. This time we all met at The Taphouse Beer Café in South Street.
