The Chamber welcomes new member Heatonomy, since moving to Deal Petra started Heatonomy with a stall at the Deal Town Saturday Market and things grew from there.
You can still find her at the market but now with a much larger range of chilli condiments, everything from mild to hot her business has grown and now includes catering, mainly canapés, a weekly take away menu, wholesale and Petra teamed up with Darren from Jenkins &Son fishmongers to be able to offer sushi.
If you are interested in Heatonomy products or services, call Petra on 07979 590557, email your request to petra.hallstrom@gmail.com or check out their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/heatonomy
We also welcome Safe Choice Care, Social Services are putting red tape around offering care packages to agency’s who do not have a “contract” with them.
The opportunity to be able to tender for the contract doesn’t come available often, and additional to this social services expect agencies to lower their rates which would only just cover staff fees.
Safe choice care have offered capacity for those who are sat in hospitals bed blocking because they can’t find an agency for their package, they would be able to relieve stress on the hospital staff by bringing patients back to their own home, yet due to “red tape” social services will not allow them to help. This would allow NHS staff to continue to care for those who need medical help rather than assisting with tasks that could be carried out within their own homes.
Sadly, they have had families contact them begging them to help their mum/dad/loved ones yet they are being rejected by community purchasing officers because they are being told to keep within a budget. There are huge pressures on the NHS right now, surely any offer of relief would be welcomed?
Safe choice understand budgeting is tight, However there must be an alternative solution to this problem, they have trained caring and flexible staff available to assist with people coming home and being supported with their care needs. There are other companies like they facing this issue, let’s hope common sense prevails
One of our committee can personally vouch for how good Safe Choice can behaving looked after their elderly relatives with dementia for some years, to get in touch call 01304 363758 or e-mail Helena at helena.barr@safechoicecare.co.uk or check out their website at www.safechoicecare.co.uk
